It is not as much in the news as it used to be, but there is a
lot to worry about in our schools. Not only are the educational standards of some of our schools not up to par, there are dangers lurking in the hallways that weren’t a worry back when I was a kid. Children need to know that if something is happening in their school, they need to take cover and hide if at all possible. If they see someone with a gun, they should get out of view as fast as possible, even if it means crawling under a desk. There are no easy answers as to what to do when something like this happens, so perhaps you want to talk to someone in your school district about school safety, and what they think students should do in the case of an emergency of this type.
