Why it is we cannot we keep the skin we were born with? Having said that, if we did, it would have to stretch a bit, especially in my case. When we start to get older the most obvious thing to happen to skin is the wrinkle. I’ve got them and I wish I didn’t but then again being a man perhaps I can have wrinkles and people do not notice. I don’t really bother about skin care too much, I don’t have to, I’m a man and I can get away without bothering about my skin too much as long as I keep it clean. The trouble is men tend to notice wrinkles on women. We shouldn’t, but hey ladies sorry we do. It isn’t our fault; we must be designed to be like that, insensitive and uncaring, and because we do notice these things, you worry a great deal about caring for your skin.
So men can get away with it but women cannot. What can you do about it? Well a proper skin care program can help you to work with the changes in your skin which not only affects how you look but also affects how you feel. The skin is the largest organ in the body so a proper skin care program is a good thing to adopt.
A good way to combat drying of the skin is to apply a moisturizer immediately after a shower. If your skin is still damp, not wet, when you apply a moisturizer, this will help to seal the moisture in. It doesn’t add moisture but it does help to retain it. You can also help by drinking water which helps to keep your skin healthy and moist. If your skin is constantly dry though, especially if it is a little flaky as well have it checked by your physician. If you notice a major change such as a new growth, changes in dark patches or to moles visit your physician for a check up, just to be safe.
A major factor in skin care is the effects of the sun so try not to have too much exposure especially during the midday period when the sun is at its fiercest. Use a good sunscreen. Exposure to sunlight also causes a substance called elastin to break down and this can cause the skin to sag. This is a pity, as most of us feel much better when we are out in the sun.
There are many products you can buy which can help you to develop your own skin care program and most of these are reputed to work but there is a lot you can do to develop your own natural skin care program.
Diet
A healthy diet will help to keep your skin healthy. Eating a balanced diet especially one which contains fresh fruits and vegetables is good for you and these have now been found to contain high levels of antioxidants. These can help to protect your skin from damage by environmental causes such as day-to-day living which causes a build up of free radicals in the skin. These can be particularly damaging and fruit and veg help in a skin care program. Eating them fresh or only very lightly cooked though is thought to be best though.

Stretching the skin can, and does, happen though if you take in too many calories. When we get a little overweight our skin stretches to accommodate this and then we diet to loose weight. This is very bad for skin care as your skin can and does sag. If you are younger this is not as much as a problem than if you are older, as younger skin is much more flexible. The easy answer is to watch what you eat and try not to get to the stage where you skin stretches in the first place. In other words try to avoid weight gain as should not be on your list for a good skin care program.
Whatever you choose to do in your skin care program, do your research. Find out what works and what doesn’t, talk to specialists such as store advisors and see if your friends have any special tips.

Should You Be Taking CoQ10?

In my quest for the “supplemental” truth it seems necessary to explore the qualities of the latest hot supplement topic: Coenzyme Q10. Everywhere I turn these days, I’m reading about the benefits which range the gamut from anti-aging to heart protection. But, is Coenzyme Q10 right for you? Read on!
First: The Claims:
A Rich Source of Anti-oxidants:
Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10), also known as ubiquinone, has been documented as a rich source of anti-oxidants. In much of the research and articles I’ve read, CoQ10 is consistently thought to act in much the same way that vitamin E does. In fact, CoQ10 has been found in many studies to be much more effective than vitamin E in lowering cholesterol and creating an optimum environment for the cells to create energy. Other strong anti-oxidant qualities include: the reduction in risk of heart disease and regulation of blood pressure.
Stimulates The Immune System:
CoQ10 has also been shown to be an important component in the function of the immune system. It both inhibits bacteria as well as increases immune function. It also increases white blood cell production. In many cases when the body is deficient in CoQ10 (which becomes more common as we age) the immune system becomes compromised. Supplementation can often counteract this.
Anti-aging Qualities:
Studies also suggest there is possible anti-aging effects in CoQ10. It has been shown to slow the aging process through its antioxidant qualities. Anti-oxidants, as we know, prevent “free radical” damage – the instability of cells which causes them to mutate unnecessarily creating everything from sun damage to cancer. CoQ10 has also been noted to increase endurance during exercise and is currently being used as a therapy and reversal for Alzheimer’s.

What’s the bad news? Not much. There doesn’t seem to be any documented toxicity from supplementing with CoQ10. However, if you are pregnant or a nursing mom it would be best not to take this supplement as the long terms effects have not been recorded. Some reports suggest CoQ10 will decrease the effectiveness of warfarin – a blood thinner, but there is no evidence to suggest it is decidedly so. Finally, the dosage should not exceed 200 mg per day as this – in some cases – has been shown to cause diarrhea and nausea.
Other FAQ’s About CoQ10:
How much CoQ10 is enough to reap the benefits? For Best results (in the literature I consulted) 1, 30-60mg capsule up to 3X per day is a safe dosage when taken with meals. When choosing a supplement, it is important to be sure the capsule is in CoQ10’s natural form which is dark bright yellow in color.
In Summation:
Once again, in this scientist’s opinion, I would mark CoQ10 as being well worth your consideration. Do your homework, however. As with any change in your healthcare program, always consult your healthcare practitioner. If you are on any other medications be sure to talk to your doctor or pharmacist about the possibility of interaction. Conduct your own research project. Serious Dieting Tips, Humorous Explanations

A few months ago, I set out to lose 22.6 pounds, then to put back on at least half of it.
Huh? Anybody who’s ever found herself stuck on a yo-yo diet is probably thinking that I am either crazy or planning way too hard for the inevitable yo-yo heartaches. However, my plan is more sneaky than that.
First, I want to lose this rubber tire I’ve been carrying around my waist. Have you ever gotten stuck inside a rubber tire? It’s not a pretty site.
Then, I want to put back some of that weight in the form of muscle. It’s my grand master plan to change my shape from looking like a silly pear to looking like an upside down silly pear.
Will it work?
I think I have the “silly” part figured out. And so far, I have lost14.6 pounds, but I think I really lost a few more, because I have been getting ahead of schedule on adding those muscle pounds.
I would love to tell you what my weight is now, but that’s very private information. Why should it be so private? I am not 100% certain, but I believe it is so that people can easily move between Earth and the Moon without being detected by hidden scales. Baking allows you to retain more friendships. When you bake in the sun, you get a nice tan and go for a dip in the pool to cool off with your friends. But when you fry, you get a sunburn and don’t dare go in the shower for a week…which scares your friends away.
Tip #3: Drink plenty of water before meals. This will help you eat less during the meal. After all, few people can over-eat consistently while rushing off to the bathroom.
Tip #4: Don’t taste-test while you cook. Many cooks taste their dishes several times while cooking to make sure the flavor is just right. Over a lifetime, the typical cook who takes such measures will put on 13.4 pounds. You just can’t bear to throw it away because you know that it’s enough to feed a small, famished African country. So you eat a “second supper” out of guilt. How can you be so heartless?! Send the leftover food to that small, famished African country.
Tip #6: Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches are not all that bad for you, if you eat them in moderation. But stay away from those dreaded peanut butter and jellyfish sandwiches.
Tip #7: Blot your pizza to remove 17% of the saturate fats. If you blot it really well, you can remove 100%. Of course, an empty plate might require a spicier sauce…
Tip #8: No snacking in front of the TV. Get up. Right now. No snacking in front of my TV. I don’t want crumbs on my living room carpet.
Tip #9: Schedule your exercise. It’s true, if you don’t schedule it, your exercise will get pushed aside by things you do schedule. I suggest scheduling it during office meetings, dental appointments and reality TV shows. You wouldn’t want to miss anything important, would you?
Tip #10: This is a good one. Why, because #10 on any top-ten list is always a good one. Ten is a great number. So tip #10 is to celebrate every ten pounds lost by preparing a triple chocolate double-dip cheesecake supreme ice cream parfait deluxe. Go ahead and drool. You deserve it. And if you think preparing it is fun, just wait until you lose another 50 pounds … and have permission to actually eat it.
I hope these tips help you. On a serious note, most people will lose a significant amount of weight if they follow these ten tips along with watching their calories according to any popular healthy dieting plan. Well…almost. You might not want to follow tip #6. You will probably lose fewer pounds eating jelly than you would eating jellyfish.

Sacred Oil of the Pacific Island Folk

SACRED OIL …
Tahiti is home to a traditional ingredient that is just now working its way across the world.
Since the early 1920s, Tamanu Oil has been studied in hospitals and by researchers worldwide, with impressive results. Islanders and local natural healers say that Tamanu Oil has a unique ability to heal tissue, thereby speed up wound healing and the growth of healthy skin.
In Pacific island folk medicine, Tamanu Oil is applied liberally to all manner of skin problems (cuts, scrapes, burns, insect bites and stings, abrasions, acne and acne scars, psoriasis, diabetic sores, anal fissures, sunburn, dry or scaly skin, blisters, eczema, herpes sores, athletes foot, as well as foot and body odour). The branches are covered with shiny, dark green oval leaves, and small white flowers with yellow centres. Its blossoms give off a delightful, sweet perfume and the fruit of the tree, about the size of an apricot, has a thin flesh and a large nut kernel inside.
Tamanu nut is a botanical oddity. When the fruits of the tree are collected and cracked open, the blond nut kernel inside contains no apparent oil. But when the kernels are sun-dried on a rack for 1 – 2 months, they turn a deep chocolate brown colour, and become sticky with a rich, pleasant-smelling oil.
Using a simple screw press, the oil is squeezed from the dark kernels and the resulting oil is dark green and luxurious.
Though the oil is thick and rich, once it is applied to the skin it is readily and completely absorbed, leaving no oily residue.

Respect Your Food

Always give thanks for the food you are about to eat and all things you receive, the information found here and form other sources has been given to you to investigate and utilize (once you have found it to be credible) in order for you to improve or enhance your physical and spiritual bodies. The Most High guides us in all we do, we may think we have a plan, but the Most High is the best of all planners, if you are reading this now, think of the relevance of the information therein to your life, health and well being.
Food like all other things in existence has energy, a vibration. When you are eating try and visualize the energy of the food you are eating entering your body and carrying out it’s function. Sometimes we do this subconsciously; when we are really hungry and finally sit down to eat some of mum’s Sunday dinner, we really feel the food going down and appreciate the wonderful tastes and smells sliding through our body’s and filling our tummy’s. You feel satisfied, nourished and full. It feels so good you sometimes even start humming to yourself and rubbing your belly. This is what food is meant to do for us, momentary pleasure from a quick snack will normally wear off in about half an hour leaving you hungry and unsatisfied. When you know that you are about to eat a good meal, you start salivating, this is important for the digestion process the begin, if the food tastes good, you feel happy and your body will naturally relax allowing a proper follow of blood to your digestive system so that you digest it properly. Most people who are able to get a good satisfying meal a day find that is all they really need, snacks are few and far between, if they are necessary at all, they are normally of a good standard. Respect your body enough to give it the best at all times. Restrictions of money will not last forever unless you want them too. Don’t use lack of money as your continuing excuse for not improving your health because medical bills will be more expensive. Health doesn’t always mean you buy the most expensive foods, you simply by the best quality, this can mean you grow your own vegetables, herbs and fruit if you can so you know its organic, this is also cheaper. Make your own juices, eat foods that have the vitamins and minerals you need instead of buying supplements, put your energy into preparing you meals. There is a great sense of satisfaction in knowing that you really KNOW what you are eating and you had a small role in preparing it, remember to always give thanks to the creator for it first as his role was the greatest.
Everything that happens on earth happens in our bodies, every quality that the earth has, the universe has also. We therefore can not wish to become one with the planet and mother nature if we have impure bodies. The food that we eat is what our bodies are composed of, through the various stages of the passage of food through our bodies; much of the food becomes a part of us therefore we must seriously consider what we are eating.
Imagine for a moment if you will, if you could open your body to see what was inside it, what it was actually composed of. Imagine that the food you had eaten over the past year had actually becomes your internal organs. How would you like to find that your heart had become those diseased hamburgers that you insist on buying every time you passed the restaurants, your bones had become weak and thin like the fries and chocolate bars you get with your burgers, your lungs know resemble two steaks that are dripping in fat, your blood had become brown like the cola you get with you burger with the same amount of chemicals. Imagine how that would smell, feel and look. Now imagine how you would feel if you opened yourself to find that your heart had been replaced with a clean fresh bunch of red grapes, your bones were now study carrots, your lungs were two pineapples and you blood was crystal clear fresh water. This is only an analogy obviously but not far from the truth, and a useful way of impressing in your minds the difference between the condition of a junk food slaves diet and the insides of one who cares for themselves. Just because we can’t see the magnificent work of engineering that is our body, given to us by the Most High, doesn’t mean you should ignore it until it gives us a warning that there is something wrong in the form of pain. Remember, respect your body, your food and yourself, naturally.

Researching Glyconutritionals (a.k.a. Glyconutrients)?

The Greek word “Glyco” means, “Sugar”. Most people think of sugar as being bad for you. However, there are actually TWO kinds of sugars. One is the refined or “extracellular” sugars which have been long associated with human disease. The other sugars are “intracellular” which can be found in fruits and vegetables and provide the body with nutrition it needs. These sugars, also known as complex carbohydrates, have been studied for years. However, only recently have we begun discovering their purpose in the body.
An increasing number of scientists believe that certain carbohydrates represent the next frontier in the search for non-toxic treatments for various degenerative conditions. Even though we have just begun to scratch the surface in understanding the full potential of these carbohydrates, the research being reported in just the last decade has ignited a new level of hope and optimism with some of the world’s leading immunologists.
One of the world’s most renowned veterinary immunologists, Dr. Ian R. Tizard, writes in a published paper entitled Carbohydrates, Immune Stimulating, “there has long been a tradition in folk medicine that extracts of certain fungi and plants may be of assistance in the treatment of cancer. On investigation, many of these extracts have been found to possess potent immune- stimulating activity. In many cases, this activity is attributable to complex carbohydrates.”
Healthy bodies are comprised of many components working together in sophisticated harmony, and must have accurate internal communication to function correctly. In it’s most basic form, this communication occurs at the cellular level.
To maintain a healthy body, cells must “talk” to each other. Their language is one of touch, written in saccharides (or simple sugars) on the cell surfaces. These simple sugars combine with other molecules to make glycoforms such as glycoproteins when combined with proteins or glycolipids when combined with fat. Of the 200 monosaccharides (glyconutrients) that occur naturally in plants, 8 have been discovered to be components in the cell surface glycoforms (see Harper’s Textbook of Biochemistry–1996). Like thousands of different “keys” projecting from the cell surface, they will either unlock the required functions of the adjoining cell or not. If the right keys are available, the body functions smoothly. If not, it doesn’t. Acta Anatomica, which is a European journal, states that these simple sugars have a coding capacity that surpasses that of amino acids!!
Glyconutritionals provide the cellular communication needed in the body.
Only two of the eight monosaccharides (glyconutrients) are found in today’s diet. Our diets have changed in response to the demands for quicker, cheaper food. Consequently, we are not eating foods that contain the necessary fuels for our cells to communicate in a healthy, effective manner. While our body has the capacity to manufacture these simple sugars, the conversion process is complicated. During the conversion process your cells are exposed to tens of thousands of free radical hits each day. This requires time, energy and a host of other micronutrients in order to complete the conversion. Viruses can also interfere with our body’s ability to make these conversions. People who are ill or who have inborn errors of metabolism are especially vulnerable to a breakdown in the process. Whenever the monosaccharides cannot be made, communication is slowed down or impaired as a result.
Since your body has more than a trillion cells and fully regenerates all of its cells in approximately 1 year, any miscommunication or slowdown could cause major health problems. Raise Your Life Standards and Raise Your Health

When Oprah Winfrey was interviewed by the legendary US television reporter Barbara Walters she was asked “what’s the reason you put yourself on the line week after week, year after year, on the cutting edge of human emotion?” Oprah replied “Teaching people to take responsibly. I believe the secret to life is to take responsibility, once people grasp that I believe everything in their life changes. Once people understand it and live it, they are at cause for their life rather than living in effect and in reaction.”
Public issues aside most people agree Bill Clinton was a very charismatic leader. Yet by his own admission in his autobiography he talks about painful acts in his childhood, anger and emotion that drove him to a better life. He hit a level of threshold where he was finally dissatisfied enough with his life to make changes. He was literally propelled forward to improve his life, and dream, and apply and learn the tools and strategies to assist himself and those around him. It’s up to us to make a decision, to release all our negative emotions, to live in the present and to move into the future with improvement. The best thing about the past is that it’s over.
Make a decision right now to release any old emotion you had with other people and move forward empowered. Put your shoulders back. Now stop and do something a little ridiculous. Float way up in the air in your mind, imagine you’re near a big ravine, put 100 singers down each side and hear them singing now. Hear the lightning coming down the side of the cliff. Feel the static electricity in the air. Now imagine a big puma in front of you, licking its lips. Now step inside the puma, feel the muscles and the strength and look way down the bottom, way off into the distance, so small it’s barely a speck, way down the bottom of the cliff is a person or situation you were facing. Hear the singers sing “Your Butt is Mine”. Most of us don’t feel good because we don’t do what could be described as “ridiculous mental conditioning”.
Stop now and imagine a room in your mind, walk down the stairs, as you walk down with each stair releasing negativity and building up strength. At the bottom is a door. Open it. Inside is a beautiful garden. Imagine the sight, the sound, the feel and the smell. And in this garden are some people you need to meet. You need to have a conversation with them that goes something along the lines of “I forgive you”. You may not be aware yet of the cords that still connect you to these people.
Now, stop and take two giant blades and drop them down and cut those cords and see the people fly off into the distance to go about their own growing. Now feel a pleasant feeling in your body. Lock this feeling in.
Consciously feel the release. Now visualize in front of you how you want to be, a more advanced version of you. Filled with whatever positive emotions you desire. Stop and imagine the qualities you need. Notice how does this new you look? Notice how his new you is feeling? Notice how this new you sounds? If you haven’t yet noticed then feel the strength from being around this new you. Notice how this new you stands and breathes. Now step into this taking on all the qualities of this new you. Make a commitment with this deepest part of yourself to take this new you around with you wherever you go.
What would this new you do? What would this new you stand for? What would this new you contribute? What would this new you be interested in? How will this you respond when you get off track? How will it feel when you live you life at this new standard? Step into this new you and feel the feelings in your body.
Decide to take your relationships to the next level. People love to talk about their own interests, learn to cultivate the art of being a good listener and people will like you – even if you have to sacrifice some of the conversational enjoyment for yourself to give to others. Watch the difference in your own life. People build up rapport with others by speaking at about the same speed and the same volume as the other person.
