There are so many different topics when it comes to cleaning. The first question you have to ask yourself is cleaning what? We clean everything, as human beings we are taught from our early childhoods to keep every thing clean and put things away when we are done with them. The question then becomes why? Why do humans need everything to be neat and clean, and in order. I believe as a species, human beings need direction and routine to maintain a healthy lifestyle. If things are not clean and organized this can disrupt our daily routine. How does this come into play with what makes a good cleaning supplies website? WeRL first, before you can seRL something to an individual it always helps to give them good information on what they are buying and how to use it. A majority of cleaning and janitorial supply websites just list products and hope that you wiRL purchase their items. When I make a purchase I want to know what I’m getting, how to use it, and how does it compare to other products that are similar. Am I getting the best deal, and is what I am buying the right product for my situation. In the cleaning supplies industry there are a lot of chemicals that are sold to help us clean. Some cleaning chemicals are dangerous and others not so dangerous, it is a good idea to read cleaning chemical instructions from start to finish before using them.

When you as a cleaning supply website owner sells a product individual it is your responsibility to give the customer as much good information as possible, so that the product sold is not used inappropriately. Mixing certain cleaning chemicals can be dangerous if not life threatening and someone could end up hurt or even worse. A good cleaning supplies website should include and have posted MSDS literature on every chemical they sell. An MSDS page or sheet is an acronym for material safety data sheet. This literature states what ingredients go into a cleaning chemical and what to do if an emergency arises related to the chemical. Certain laws make it illegal for some businesses to use a chemical without having a MSDS cleaning sheet at the location but with the private use of a cleaning chemical this is not true. When using cleaning chemicals for your own private use it is a smart idea to have a cleaning MSDS on hand for your own safety and weRL being.

Another good trait of a successful cleaning and janitorial supplies website is to include cleaning forums and cleaning directories. Cleaning supply forums are a great opportunity for your customers to share ideas and let each other know which cleaning supplies work for certain situations. A good cleaning site webmaster wiRL also give input on these forums and help answer perspective buyers questions. By offering a cleaning directory cleaning services and individuals who operate cleaning related businesses can promote their services which help them to seRL more which in turn helps your website to seRL more.

As the webmaster for many cleaning supplies websites for over 3 years I implore other janitorial sites to give good and accurate information to their clients. By providing cleaning safety information and knowledge about the products you seRL is a cleaning supply site webmasters responsibility. Help make the world a cleaner and safer place and give your clients the one thing the internet is about – good and accurate information.

For centuries leather has been used for its functionality as weRL as its prestige. Back in the dark ages, hides were being used for warmth and protection in the form of crude coats and makeshift shoes. In those times, leather decay would begin after only a short time making for a very inefficient process.

Today we have perfected the tanning process making leather the strongest and longest lasting upholstery material. Most reputable leather furniture companies use leather that has been preserved in the tanning process. Properly tanned leather can last up to four times longer than most any other upholstery fabric. Given its durability and the pure elegance of leather furniture, you can most assuredly be prepared to spend a bit more for it. The good news is leather requires very little care.

Here are some important steps you can take to help protect your leather furniture:

Probably the most important thing to remember is to clean stains immediately! If you do not, the stain can reappear weeks or months later. Just use mild soap and warm water.

Keep your furniture away from heat sources. At least two feet is recommended. Leather can become dried out if exposed for long periods.

Avoid direct sunlight. This wiRL prevent fading.

To dust use a clean cloth with a smaRL amount of leather cleaner.

Never use saddle soap, furniture polish, oil, varnish, abrasive or ammonia based cleansers.

ARL leather furniture needs reconditioning on a regular basis. This process replaces the natural hide oils that dry out and cause the leather to crack.

Please note the above is for preventative maintenance and you may have a specific problem which may caRL for more action. Cleaning leather furniture can be tricky and you should always do a spot test to check for color fastness. If it is something major like scrapes, cuts, holes or grease and oil stains it is recommended that you seek professional assistance.

Take the time to get to know your furniture. Look for differences in grade of leather, type of dye and finishing. Your furniture retailer should be able to supply you with this information. If you take care of your leather furniture, it wiRL last at least 20 years.

Going solar is all the rage these days with massive financial incentives fueling the fire. Here s a little trick to write off an additional part of your solar system purchase.

Financing Your Solar Improvements

Improving your home with a solar panel system is financially advantageous these days. The federal government, most states and even cities throw financial breaks at you to promote going solar. With the federal government, you are going to get a $2,000 tax credit, a figure that is subtracted from the amount of tax you owe the IRS at the end of the year. States pursue a variety of plans, but most offer rebates wherein they actually pay for part of your new system. Cities also offer rebates, often by discounting your property taxes.

On top of all of this, you can take advantage of net metering laws in a majority of states. Net metering simply means you can sell your solar electricity to the local utility when you aren t using it. Known as being on the grid, nothing is more satisfying than watching your utility meter run BACKWARDS during the day! As you might imagine, this has a nice impact on your utility bill at the end of the month.

There is one additional financial trick many people fail to take advantage of when it comes to writing off solar panels and such financing. Even if you have the cash in your hot little hand, you should consider taking a home equity loans or refinancing your home to pull out cash to pay for the system. Why? The mortgage interest deduction! Improvements to your home are deductible if they are incorporated into your mortgage payment.

Now, you might be rolling your eyes contemplating regarding going through the refinancing process. Don t. Many federal mortgage institutions are required to write financing for people wanting to improve their home with solar systems. Even better, most of the loans are written at interest rates well below current mortgage rates.

If you are considering doing a solar-based improvement to your home, talk to your lender about financing options. Take advantage of this strategy and you ll be getting a mortgage tax deduction, tax credit, rebate, property tax discount and selling power to the utility company when you go solar. With so many financial incentives, you have to ask yourself whether you can afford not to go solar.

It has been said, Everything gets better with age, and for vacuums, that is especially true. The evolution of vacuum cleaners is an interesting tale of conceptualizations and mechanical realities coupled with good old fashioned trial and error.

The first vacuum prototype was called a carpet sweeper and would trap particles of dust in water chambers. Mr. Daniel Hess never got to manufacture his machine but his brilliance has set the tone for many cleaning machines to come. Most of the early machines were very heavy and sometimes required two people to operate them. Additionally, power sources were always a problem until freestanding sources were used in vacuums around 1901 by Hubert Booth. The inventors of the time and the forefathers of companies of today came up with ingenious ways to make these vacuums more convenient, affordable, and useful.

One type of popular vacuum used today is the bagged vacuum. Bag vacuums generally fill from the bottom of the bag with dirt and particulates through bursts of airflow. Air is sucked up into the bag and then pushed out the porous micro holes in the fiber of the bag, thus allowing the air to pass through the bag and trap the particulate inside. However, as the bag fills, less and less air is able to flow which, in turn, inhibits suction. Also, changing the vacuum bag releases the allergens, dander, and particulates back into the air.

Another type of vacuum is a bag-less model. These work to attempt to mimic the technology of a cyclone machine but can have a tendency to get clogged very easily. This, of course, leads to reduced suction and loss of air flow if they are not made properly.

In 1978, James Dyson began trying to build a machine that would utilize the concept of dual cyclones. Over 5,000 tries later, he succeeded in1993. Dyson vacuums never lose suction. In the Dyson Root Cyclone, centrifugal force is used to help filter dust and debris with virtually no obstruction to the flow of air. As the air spirals down the cone shaped cylinder with extreme force, the particulates of dirt are spun out of the air that holds it and falls to the bottom. As the cone gets smaller and smaller, even the tiniest of particles can be spun out, leaving the exiting air very clean. The Dyson vacuums are better than regular cyclones because they have two cyclones instead of one with no danger of clogging. Dyson vacuums also work well on hard surfaces as well as carpets. Vacuum cleaners have come a long way in their history and technology as seen through the state of the art Dyson vacuum.

It is often easier to decorate around the house; there exist some amount of spontaneity inspiring you to plunge into your own styling. When it comes to wall color schemes, things turn the other way. For amateurs and enthusiasts and homemakers too, this field appears a bit risky, with lots to lose time, money, and efforts to start with, not to mention the redoing it requires.

You don t need to feel overwhelmed with the ordeal. To plan and co-ordinate color scheme for every room in the home, you can take one step at a time. Assess each room individually and make notes as to the amount of natural light it receives, the kind of lighting you have used and the color that will best compliment the natural architectural features of your home. It s easy to estimate these details, if you have lived in the house for some time.

Before you decide, take a closer look at the existing carpeting, flooring and woodwork and it will allow you to make a safe choice. On an average, color scheme on the walls will helps you to determine the harmony between colors to be used throughout the d cor. Color wheels are often used to determine the complimentary colors; you can do the accents furnishings (rugs, lamps, paintings) and furniture in the complimentary colors. Some common schemes for selecting the best color for a space,

Monochromatic Color Scheme: The most common one, it uses a single color in different shades, tints, values, textures and hues to bring the harmony and flow, a sense of uniformity to a place.
Analogous scheme: This one uses adjacent colors on the color wheel, allowing you many possibilities within the warm or cool color category. Plan the colors diligently, for it is important for the colors to come out as a great combo.
A complementary scheme: Here, one can use the colors opposite each other on the color wheel, again a difficult task as the balance of colors will take some careful thinking. Considered bold and modern.
Triadic Color Scheme: This one uses three hues. Each is placed consecutively or at equal distances from each other. For example, yellow, green and red, this scheming uses their tones, shades and scales in three hues placed at equal distances from each other. On studying the color wheel and looking up different color scheming, get a practical view and start planning. Here are a few steps for your consideration,
When you have decided on the color palette for a room, start with the lighter shades for walls, medium for furniture and windows (or contrasts), doors etc. If you don t want to change the furniture, work around a wall color that is a shade lighter in the same order. Accessories may look great in the darkest of shade on your color card.
Lighter shades like cream, whites, lemon, Ivory can make a big difference in making a space look larger. You can use a lighter shade as the base or neutral color; play with contrast and bolder shades for rest of the d cor.
You need to have eye resting point where all the colors break even. Nothing big or too loud, a great complimentary colored vase or bowl or art piece or painting that highlights the accents, and harmonizes the interiors in a balancing art.
Usually, people use boldest of colors on fabrics like cushions, curtains and mats. You can use harmonize fabrics by using colors as accent fabrics on chairs, decorative pillows, tablecloths and mats.
Repeat each colors in an equal proportion throughout the room, and in at least 3-4 places. The best color ratio: Divide color use to approximately 60% of the room in the background (lightest) color, 30% in the mid-tone color, and 10% in the brightest, accent colors.

Play within the color rules, but when it comes to creativity, don t overlook your own power. You can do wonders with pieces and bits within the arena and create a space that reflects your taste, your individuality.

Ceramic tile material is rigid and relatively brittle, so a sturdy base is the most critical part of installing this type of tile. Unless you want to see cracked tiles, loose tiles, or loose grout, you need to select the proper underlayment. Underlayment being what the construction trade calls the layer that goes between your wood subfloor and your tiles.

You have several alternate ways to accomplish the strong underlayment required for ceramic tile installation.

Plywood- just a single layer of plywood isn’t rigid enough to stop floor deflection. It needs to be covered over with an additional layer of exterior-grade plywood to achieve a total thickness of at least 1 1/8 inch. You can either (A)- Cover the plywood with a cement backer board (more on these below) or (B) Cover the existing plywood with a second layer of exterior grade plywood. Under either of these, a thin-set mortar is applied to eliminate air gaps. Additionally, in bathrooms, it’s recommended to lay a “shower pan” over your wood subfloor. This refers to thin rubberized materials that protect the tile from floor expansion and contraction due to moisture, temperature and humidity.

Cement Backer Board – These are prefabricated, lightweight concrete sheets used to cover wood subfloors. It has a dense Portland concrete core and fiberglass surfaces both sides and is able to withstand prolonged exposure to moisture. Brand names include DUROCK, UTILICRETE, WONDERBOARD and GLASCRETE. Joints of the backer board sheets should be staggered such that they don’t fall directly over the wood subfloor joints.
Mortar Bed- Mud beds, or mortar beds, are used by professional tile contractors mostly. They’re composed of a layer of thick roofing felt, then wire mesh, followed by a layer of mortar. The reason it is used mostly by the specialists is that it takes a high level of skill and practice to ensure the mortar bed produces a sufficiently level surface. The other reason is that it is the best foundation possible for a ceramic tile floor. Okay, but why? Because the mortar bed has a built-in reinforcement against floor deflections in the form of the wire mesh. Translation- less cracked tiles and loose grout, and longer-life flooring.
Concrete Slab-
You can lay your ceramic tile directly on concrete slab, but all cracks and holes need to be refurbished prior before the installation of a tile when it’s directly bonded to the concrete. Some concrete slab has been coated with curing compound to help the slab set without cracks. This compound should be removed before tile installation to ensure a long-lasting mortar bond, since the compound helps the concrete retain moisture and in some cases affects adhesiveness. It is also important that the slab be as level as possible, especially with the larger tile sizes in use today. Cleaning the concrete completely of debris and dust will also contribute to a higher quality installation. In short, preparation of the surface is key.

One other possibility is laying the tile over existing flooring. There are a few things to consider. Is your existing floor solid, flat and in good shape? Is it stuck well enough to the subfloor under it to provide support? Good. Is the existing floor linoleum or vinyl? Not so good. You need to strip it out or put a good subflooring on top of it. (And watch out for older vinyl flooring, which may contain asbestos fibers. You don’t want to strip this stuff out yourself. Instead, either cover it up with some plywood subfloor or have a contractor remove it. If you aren’t sure if your flooring has asbestos, call in a trained asbestos inspector.) If you have ceramic tile on the floor you can lay newer tile on top of it as long as it’s surface is level and not too smooth. You might need to sand the surface to let your bonding have a better chance.

In conclusion, a little planning and thought will go a long way toward making your tile installation project a long-lasting addition to your home, so take the time before you go in with “both guns blazing”.

DPC Vinyl Decking Treat Yourself To The Best Deck Around

Word Count:

Vinyl decking is tough. Really tough. And low maintenance.

vinyl decking, vinyl decking material, georgia vinyl decking

To find the best Renovations Cork And Conservatories Cork company, click here for DPC Construction Cork.
The most important ingredient in vinyl decking is PVC, which stands for polyvinyl chloride. Manufacturers of this type of decking material add titanium dioxide to the mix so that the vinyl won t yellow and so that it has UV protection. There are also other specialized components added so that the vinyl material can withstand the weather and heavy loads. When you look at what vinyl decking has to offer, one brand name to consider is Georgia decking.

Georgia vinyl decking comes in many different colors, which includes a color that closely simulates wood with grains running through it. The main difference between vinyl decking and wood is that the vinyl is very long lasting. Chances are you will be passed on long before the vinyl decking material wears out. This is something that you can say about wood. With vinyl as your choice of decking material, you don t need to paint of stain the material to get the color that you want. The color is built right into the vinyl.

Many people, especially homeowners in Georgia, wonder about how vinyl decking reacts to changes in temperature and weather. It is normal for vinyl to contract and expand with changing temperatures, but even in cold weather vinyl decking material will not crack unless you put a tremendous amount of pressure on it. Georgia vinyl decking has the low maintenance that you want in a deck so that once you install it, you never have to do more than clean it as long as you have it.

Even white vinyl decking will not yellow under the bright glare of the sun. This is one of the questions that retailers of Georgia vinyl decking get asked quite often. Although you may notice a slight fading in the first three months, this is the natural process of the vinyl adapting to the conditions of the environment. Another interesting feature of vinyl decking material is that it will not ignite unless fire is held to it directly. However, as soon as you take the fire away, the vinyl will extinguish itself.

Although it is not recommended, you can paint vinyl decking if you wish. It is important for you to know that if you choose to do this, you will void any warranty associated with the vinyl decking material and you will have to keep doing it year after year. This kind of defeats the purpose of having low maintenance Georgia vinyl decking if you are going to paint it. It doesn t take very much work on your part to keep the vinyl decking clean either. Simply hose it off and if you need to, you can use a mild detergent. Dirt, grime and stains will wash right off.

By definition, a molding is an ornamental piece of wood, metal, or plaster, used to decorate or outline something. It can be used on the interior or exterior of a home. Moldings frame walls, ceilings, windows, and door openings. Examples of moldings used to decorate with are baseboards, crown molding, and chair rails. Today, I want to talk exclusively about crown molding as a decorative architectural choice.

Crown molding, also referred to as crown moulding, or cornice, is probably the most important architectural accent used to detail any interior space. Most interior designers today would agree that every room can be improved with the use of crown molding. Crown molding smoothes the transition from the waRL to the ceiling and does a wonderful job of defining the architectural style of a room. The size and style of crown molding used may vary widely, from a simple cove in a farmhouse kitchen to a large built-up cornice in a grand entry.

The initial use of a cornice in building design is anyone’s guess. By the time the ancient Greeks had gained power, rules had already been created to define the use and design of crown molding. Originally, it was used as a structural element to help support the weight of the roof. It also served to keep water away from the building, thus protecting the lower walls and the foundation. However, the use of cornice as a decorative element was not considered any less important than it’s more utilitarian functions. Most of the ornamental design patterns that you see on today’s crown molding originated from the ancient Greeks. Egg and dart, dentil and acanthus leaf are the most obvious examples and these were used extensively in ancient times by both the Greeks and the Romans.

With the rebirth of the arts in the Renaissance period came a renewed interest in classical architecture as well. The rules of the classical orders were applied to the interior decoration of rooms. These were the rules of 3 . A column, the basis of classical architecture, is divided into 3 parts: base, shaft and capital. The base and the capital were then further divided into 3 parts and prescribed rules applied to the relationship and the proportion of these divisions as well. The same divisions that apply to a column are also applied to the wall. The waRL is divided into the baseboard, the waRL and a crown molding. The lower waRL can be further divided into the base, dado and chair rail. Finally, the upper waRL is divided into the picture molding, frieze and crown molding.

When beginning any decorative project to include several types of molding, it is recommended that you choose the style and size of crown molding first, as it is the most prominently displayed. Then select the rest of the moldings to match. Regarding the proper sizing of the crown molding, advice is abundant and many guidelines have been written. Most often the advice directs you to select the size of the crown molding based on the height of your ceiling. This may be a common approach to this aspect of the design process, though, as larger crown moldings have often been used to impressively decorate rooms of more modest proportions. What IS important is to properly scale the casings and other moldings to the size of the crown molding that you wish to use. When choosing crown molding for your interior, feel free to select the size and style that YOU like. Historically, larger crown moldings were more frequently used than what is recommended today by many interior designers. Change is anticipated as the current architectural renaissance continues and more designers and homeowners endeavor to add warmth to their homes and to personalize their interiors. So have a go at it and don t be intimidated . You are limited only by your imagination.
